What you will be working on
Healthcare Insurance Department (HID) plays a vital role in ensuring Singaporeans have access to affordable healthcare. We administer key national healthcare schemes such as MediShield Life, CareShield Life and ElderShield, including Integrated Shield Plans and Supplements; with the aim of smoothly delivering healthcare benefits and services to stakeholders. This internship provides hands-on experience in operations and process automation within the government sector. You will develop practical skills in workflow optimisation and business analysis while working on real-world initiatives. Through stakeholder collaboration, you will gain valuable experience in operations management and learn how to enhance service delivery through process improvements. In this role, you will:
- Gain hands-on experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools like UiPath, developing practical skills in process automation.
- Understand key healthcare schemes and develop engaging, comprehensive and structured learning modules for the department.
- Support system testing to ensure successful implementation of projects and process reviews.
- Contribute and collaborate with stakeholders for the day-to-day management of healthcare schemes.
- Work effectively across diverse teams to consolidate inputs and deliver results efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Technology or a related field. A Degree in technology is not required but can be helpful.
- Interested in improving operational efficiency and eager to learn about process improvements through innovative solutions.
- Some has experience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools such as UiPath.
- Basic understanding of workflow automation and system testing will be a plus.
- Communicates clearly, both in speaking and writing.
- Pays attention to details and approaches tasks with an analytical mindset.
- Works well independently and with others, takes initiative without needing constant supervision.
Position is on a full-time internship basis from January 2026 – May 2026.
