What will you be working on
Healthcare Insurance Department (HID) plays a vital role in ensuring Singaporeans have access to affordable healthcare. We administer key national healthcare schemes such as MediShield Life, CareShield Life and ElderShield, including Integrated Shield Plans and Supplements; with the aim of smoothly delivering healthcare benefits and services to stakeholders.
This internship provides hands-on experience in operations and process automation within the government sector. You will develop practical skills in workflow optimisation, records management, and business analysis while working on real-world initiatives. Through stakeholder collaboration, you will gain valuable experience in operations management and learn how to enhance service delivery through process improvements.
In this role, you will:
- Take charge of automation initiatives to streamline operational workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Coordinate records management and administrative operations to ensure systematic documentation and efficient data organisation.
- Review and analyse existing scheme procedures and protocols, to identify opportunities for process optimisation to elevate customer experience.
- Contribute and collaborate with stakeholders for the day-to-day management of healthcare schemes.
What are we looking for

- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Analytics, Computing, or a related field. A Degree in technology is not required but can be helpful.
- Experience with automation and data analytics/visualisation tools such as Python, UiPath, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Keen interest in digital transformation and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrates analytical mindset with ability to solve problems creatively and systematically.
- Shows strong process improvement mindset and attention to detail.
- Communicates clearly, both in speaking and writing.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Works well independently and with others, takes initiative without needing constant supervision.
Position is on a full-time internship basis from January 2026 to May 2026.
