What you will be working on
The Data Science Accelerator Department (DSA) drives the pervasive use of data across CPF Board to aid policy and operational decision making by providing a consolidated view of good quality data, effective governance, strong data science capabilities and modern data infrastructure and tools. As a Data AI Engineer Intern within our Data Science Accelerator team, you will contribute to building digital solutions that support CPF’s data-driven decision making and policy development.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, test and maintain CPF Board's data analytics platform, including the data infrastructure, data ingestion pipelines, data store and data processing on Azure Government Commercial Cloud.
- Design, build, deploy, maintain and monitor end-to-end data projects which includes pipelines for batch and stream processing that can adequately handle the needs of a rapidly growing data-driven organisation.
- Create processes for continuous integration and big data database management, and create scripts to facilitate operations (e.g., infrastructure-as-code and automation of tasks).
- Build scalable and reliable Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes for the ingestion and integration of large, structured and unstructured data from a variety of data sources, including systems that are on-premise and on cloud platforms.
- Implement and execute data security and data quality measurements to ensure compliance with data security and data governance policies.
- Build, maintain and evaluate AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen, including the design of agentic workflows, tool integrations, and memory and retrieval components.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that support AI agent operations, including vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and LLM API integrations.
- Monitor and optimise AI agent performance in production, including prompt management, output evaluation, and iterative improvements based on feedback.
What we are looking for
We value the diverse skills and perspectives that each intern brings. While you may not need to meet every requirement fully, having some familiarity or budding expertise in the following areas will help you make the most of this opportunity and succeed with our team.
- Currently pursuing a Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Exposure to or working knowledge of scripts and DevOps tools, container services, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to or working knowledge of developing, maintaining and monitoring APIs.
- Exposure to or working knowledge of AI and LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or similar agentic frameworks.
- Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) and RAG architectures is a plus.
- Interest in or experience with prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, and responsible AI practices.
- Meticulous and analytical, with an ability to approach problems resourcefully.
- Communicates clearly, both in speaking and writing.
- Works well independently and with others, takes initiative without needing constant supervision.
Position is on a full-time internship basis from January 2027 to June 2027.
