What you will be working on
The Customer Contact Centre (CCC) is a critical part of the Customer Relations Group, consisting of three key teams: Customer Correspondence Unit, Call Centre, and Performance and Operations Support Unit. The working atmosphere at CCC is friendly and collaborative, and staff are encouraged to ask questions, suggest new ideas and share opinions. You will work at the intersection of AI and operations, building solutions that meaningfully improve how we serve customers and how our teams work. This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to design, build and iterate — not just prototype.
In this role, you will:
- Design and develop Generative AI and agentic solutions to enhance customer service operations and streamline internal processes.
- Build and optimise Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems that draw on our internal knowledge base to improve the accuracy and relevance of AI responses.
- Maintain and enhance existing AI solutions, with a focus on prompt engineering, functionality and user experience.
- Work with operational data to surface insights, support forecasting and inform decision-making.
- Develop and implement testing frameworks to evaluate model performance, accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
What are we looking for
We value the diverse skills and perspectives that each intern brings. While you may not need to meet every requirement fully, having some familiarity or budding expertise in the following areas will help you make the most of this opportunity and succeed with our team.
- Currently pursuing a Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with Python and LLM frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex; knowledge of RAG architectures and agentic workflows is advantageous.
- Proficiency in GPT, Llama, Next.js, FastAPI, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, with experience in deploying to AWS or Microsoft Azure being a plus.
- Strong interest in AI, large language models, machine learning, process automation and data analytics.
- Communicates clearly, both in speaking and writing, with strong attention to detail.
- Resourceful, intellectually curious and comfortable working through ambiguity independently.
- Works well independently and with others, takes initiative without needing constant supervision.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a willingness to adapt and take on new challenges.
Position is on a full-time internship basis from January 2027 to June 2027.
