What you will be working on
Within the Digital Services Department, the Design Excellence Centre (DXC) plays a crucial role in shaping digital experiences for CPF members through both design and technical innovation. We collaborate with departments across the organisation to create intuitive, accessible, and user-centred digital services, while also building the software tools and systems that make this possible. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the technical backbone that enables design excellence across CPF Board.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute your technical skills to one of our many products and initiatives that aim to make CPF Board and whole-of-government work better.
- Explore how GenAI can be applied, both within our products and to improve the way we work.
- Work in a cross-disciplinary team alongside product designers and content designers.
- Gain hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
What are we looking for
We value the diverse skills and perspectives that each intern brings. While you may not need to meet every requirement fully, having some familiarity or budding expertise in the following areas will help you make the most of this opportunity and succeed with our team.
- Currently pursuing a Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Has some experience in building applications, with prior exposure to Python or JavaScript being an advantage.
- Has some familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, though prior experience is useful but not required.
- Has a basic understanding of user-centred design principles and processes, with the ability to create basic wireframes and user flows.
- Communicates clearly, both in speaking and writing.
- Approaches problems with a flexible mindset and adjusts when project needs change.
- Works well independently and with others, takes initiative without needing constant supervision.
Position is on a full-time internship basis from January 2027 to June 2027.
