What you will be working on
The Design Excellence Centre (DXC) shapes digital experiences for CPF members. We work with departments across the organisation to create and improve digital services that are easy to use, accessible, and focused on CPF members. This is a product designer role focused on solving complex user problems through research, interaction design, and prototyping.
In this role, you will:
- Work through design problems end-to-end, from identifying user needs and generating concepts to defining a product and crafting how people will interact with it.
- Plan and conduct user research to understand user needs and inform product and design decisions.
- Synthesise business, technology, user, and content requirements into user flows, interaction designs, prototypes, and detailed interface designs.
- Communicate design concepts, rationales, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
- Work closely with product owners and managers to identify and prioritise product improvements based on needs and evidence.
- Work closely with developers through implementation to ensure the delivered experience reflects the design intent.
What are we looking for
We value the diverse talents and experiences that each individual brings to the table. While mastery of every requirement may not be necessary, familiarity and expertise in some of the following areas will position you for success within this team.
- Relevant experience designing and delivering end-to-end digital products, with hands-on product design capability across responsive web and native app platforms.
- Able to independently plan and conduct user research and apply findings to inform product and design decisions.
- A background in high-performing product environments with an emphasis on design quality, evidence, and iterative delivery.
- Skilled at advocating for good design practices and user needs with stakeholders, including the ability to negotiate ambiguity while driving work forward.
- Proficiency in contemporary design tools, both physical and digital, such as Figma and FigJam.
- Familiarity with framing complex user and product problems, simplifying user flows, and building wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs.
- Familiarity with design facilitation, documentation, and contributing to governance guides.
- Comfortable experimenting with emerging tools, including AI, to explore, prototype, and test ideas.
- Adaptable and resourceful in managing competing priorities while maintaining focus on user and organisational outcomes.
- An owner's mindset with genuine motivation to create meaningful impact through public service and user-centred design.
- A curious disposition with genuine interest in how people think and behave.
- Skills in areas like illustration, animation, UX writing, product management, content strategy, or information architecture will be a bonus.
The seniority of appointment and actual corporate job title will commensurate with individual work experiences.
Position is on a 1-year full-time contract directly under the payroll of CPF Board with an option to renew, contingent upon confirmation and subject to organisational needs. Additionally, there is potential for emplacement into a permanent position.
